So, I think it would be cool if #Gnome made a new keyboard shortcut thingie where if you hold down Ctrl while resizing a window it keeps its aspect ratio. Just like when resizing an element in @inkscape .
Sure, not the most important thing in the world, but it would be really neat to be able to do this when resizing image viewers and video players! No more black boarders, or fine tuning your resize to try and avoid them.
Just a thought, you know?
If I wanted to propose this idea "officially" in what part of the #Gnome Gitlab should I create this issue?
I've gone and proposed this in the Gnome Gitlab. Give it a thumbs up if you like it :) https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/Design/whiteboards/-/issues/283
@forteller @inkscape This is auch a great little idea!
I believe there are already window modifiers such as "always on top" so why not having a "locked aspect ratio" one
@djh Thanks!
Yeah, holding down the super key let's you click anywhere in any window to drag it, so that's kinda the same type of mechanism, I guess?
@forteller probably gnome-shell.
@bragefuglseth Thanks! I made an issue: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/Design/whiteboards/-/issues/283
