These protest signs of Doug Ford's authoritarian #Bill212 just keep getting better and better.

People rode down Bloor, University, and Yonge street in protest of Doug Ford's #Bill212 which includes an attack on the lives of people who bike.
This photo is only one of 3 protest rides happening at the same time today in Toronto.
So I thought it would be nice if we shared pictures of the bicycles in our lives, and I wanted to propose we use the hashtag #bikesofmastodon to do it.
I don't have a name for her (it's definitely a she in my mind) but you are welcome to suggest one, preferably in Spanish or French as those are my primary languages.
I've had her for a year, she was designed to be a daily commuter but she has become much more than that, we have shared many adventures through the mean streets of Buenos Aires and I now regularly do 80 to 100 km with her on my weekends just for fun.
More pictures and details in comments.
What if cycling wasn’t stigmatized but a symbol of progress? Mayor de Araújo shows how leadership can redefine mobility justice. Lessons for all — not just the U.S.

the future of "but was the cyclist wearing a helmet!?" will be "but was the pedestrian wearing an up-to-date C-V2X transponder!?"

Continuation of details from Jessica Bell on the bird site:
"- Bans municipalities from installing a bike lane on any road or street, including side streets, without provincial approval if a lane of vehicle traffic is removed
- Directs the provincial minister to remove the Bloor, Yonge and Avenue Road bike lanes themselves, without municipal action."

Continuation of details from Jessica Bell on the bird site:
"- Bans people from taking the Government to court for its decision to remove bike lanes, including any individuals who are injured or killed due to a collision between a bike and a vehicle
- Approves the removal of the entirety of the Bloor St bike lane"

Continuation of details from Jessica Bell on the bird site:
"We think the amendment does the following;
- Doesn't require the government to pay all the city’s expenses to remove the bike lanes
- Won’t reimburse municipalities for the cost of installing the lanes in the first place"

Today, #DougFord's conservatives proposed amendments to #Bill212, making it even worse. These are the details from Jessica Bell on the bird site:
"The Conservatives has dropped a new 11 page amendment to Bill 212.
We'll be debating the amendment in committee this afternoon, and we're reviewing it now."
Ignoring bicycles in e-mobility policies misses a chance for affordable, sustainable, and inclusive transport. Kenya must embrace their role.
Hear hear Cyprine Odada!
Sometimes the most meaningful reviews come from those who weren’t already in the market for the thing. In this case the observations from this cargo bike mom were fantastic. Thanks @TomBabin

Action Alert! Join us on Thursday, November 21, as we deliver Ghost Bikes to Queen's Park while the government wraps up its reading of Bill 212, the anti-bike lane legislation. We'll meet at Matt Cohen Park at 5:00 PM, with the ride departing at 5:30 PM. We'll arrive at Queen's Park at 5:45 PM.
This is somewhat unexpected: Local business association calls for pedestrianising all of Soho

#DougFord's Ontario conservatives had no interest in listening or discussing in good faith.
While I like the idea of shared scooters if they replace car trips, these things can absolutely be a menace to pedestrians and people using wheelchairs. #Atlanta #urbanism #walkability #accessibility
An 18 lane freeway, 100 meters wide, moves less people than a busy subway line.
The Brooklyn bridge used to move 420,000 people per day.
In the 1950s, trolleys were removed, and since then it has never moved more than 180,000 people per day.
Cars destroy cities.
