What you need to understand if you want to create a newbie, non-technical friendly #Linux distro in 2024 is that you have to include uBlock Origin and some other extensions in Firefox which makes the web usable, by default!
Because, as @molly0xfff says in the latest Citation Needed, adblockers are no longer optional. So people shouldn't have to know to install it themselves after they've already installed the OS.
@forteller @molly0xfff personally I just use #Brave and this is it. I don't feel that I need to add any other ad blocker.
@forteller @molly0xfff Shipping browser extensions by default is a great idea.
I've talked people into switching to Firefox on Windows and they were afraid to install extensions. Plus, my guess is many (most?) Firefox users don't bother going through Settings at all, don't know extensions are available, and when they find out are overwhelmed by the numbers.
