It doesn't matter whether or not it's true, a lot of people on Linux reflexively respond to anything that looks like mass data surveillance and are terrified of that ever coming to Linux
@BrodieOnLinux You are right, and it's terrible. We need to get over this, because we need some data to help us make Linux a more viable alternative for more people faster, with the limited resources we have! The alternative is that everyone uses Windows/Mac and gets totally surveiled. The demand to keep Linux 100% pure from any kind of anonymous data collection just makes more people more surveiled.
