I made this one in a minute! Most of the times when I create an artwork, I experiment on my typewriter until the work is done. And then sometimes you have a phrase or word in your head and you kind of already know you wanted to look like. It doesn’t happen often, but with this work I immediately knew what I wanted to do.

My main comic, on hiatus, is Legendary Beings Ara & Celi, about a young girl chosen to be an Angel by her predecessor--it's only too bad the girl doesn't want anything to do with the job (or the Angel.)

Wyda: Yes, I saw that by how you IGNORED me. Ara: You caught me meditating. Wyda: Really? So you've converted to Buddhism now? Gogol claps with his big lion paws. Very cute. Ara groans. Ara: That's not funny at all! Wyda: I beg to differ--Gogol enjoyed it. Gogol purrs, in a pose reminiscent of an ojou laugh. Ara: Of course he would... Wyda: Now-- Wyda: It was my understanding that angels didn't need to "meditate."

(In reality, she doesn't, she just needs to leave so she can transform.) The mother says "oh yeah, I was wondering, I've gone twice now!" They're on a plane, by the way. The lower half of this comic is the girl walking down the airplane hallway as we see a variety of passengers. Wonder how the girl's gonna transform on a plane!!
Color illustration, wide format. The picture is done traditionally with markers, acrylic and watercolors. There is only one figure here, against a fiery-esque background of oranges, yellows and reds, watercolor style. She's kneeling down in her alter ego's outfit, Eternal Ara, holding her sword the way a knight would in those medieval art illustrations. She's looking directly at us, confident, as if she knows what will happen and how scared she isn't. Part of the background is overtaking her figure, as if it were "burning" her in a kind of baptism of fire.
